The FirstNet One Blimp Can Provide Wireless Coverage to First Responders

FirstNet and AT&T built a large blimp to provide wireless network coverage to first responders during a disaster, the blimp is named the 'FirstNet One.' The FirstNet One blimp is 55-feet long and it is able to fly over disaster areas at an altitude of 1,000 feet. The blimp is also durable, as it can operate in 50Mph winds, and it can fly for two weeks before it needs to be refueled.

Wireless communication can be vital for first responders during an emergency, and the blimp will help people on the ground coordinate relief efforts in the wake of a disaster.

The FirstNet One blimp underwent testing in Tuskegee, Alabama. Following testing, it can now be utilized by 10,000 different safety organizations.
