Luminous Desert Installations

The Field of Light Installation Was Conceived By Bruce monro

Field of Light is a truly marvelous and ingenious light installation, put together by the noted British artist Bruce Monro, that has taken over the Uluru desert in Australia.

What's great about this particular light installation is the fact that it is solar-powered, and so is truly one with nature by being located in the desert and taking advantage of energy from the sun. The installation is juiced by 36 portable solar panels, while its main structure consists of 50,000 glass spheres connected by over 380 km of fiber optic cables, with 144 projectors used as light sources.

The end result is a massive 49,000 square meter area that would otherwise be dark glowing with gorgeously luminous colors, inspiring onlookers whilst staying true to the message of solar power.
