Britain-based designer Benjamin Hubert launched the featherweight Ripple Table last year, but the newer version is strong enough to stand on. The former design was hailed as the world's lightest table (for its size), but was criticized because there was no proof of stability.
The new design features a curve across the underside of the table that increases its strength. The new table also incorporates a triangulated cross section design for the legs, adding even more support.
The table uses 80% less material than a standard timber table and weighs only 23 pounds. The table is large enough to seat ten people comfortably. The new structure makes the table so sturdy that someone can even stand on it without doing any damage.
