Pared-Down Everyday Sculptures

Valentin Ruhry's Faslche Universalismen Explores Accepted Truths

Faslche Universalismen is the latest art exhibition held by Austrian artist Valentin Ruhry. Hosted by the Christine König Galerie in Vienna, Italy, the exhibit explores accepted truths and perceived realities. The Faslche Universalismen exhibit is comprised of pared-down sculptures of everyday objects that question these concepts in thought-provoking ways. Ruhry writes, "Universalism is a philosophical direction of thinking. It describes the world as one entity in which everything is connected to everything. Pluralism is the opposite, where many things coexist without any specific relation." Faslche Universalismen focuses on both of these ideas.

Inspired by American sculptor Bill Bollinger, Ruhry managed to secure three of his works to showcase alongside his own in the Faslche Universalismen art exhibit. By embracing an industrial aesthetic, the sculptures are slightly playful and mischievous.
