Bethesda is Releasing a Major Update for Fallout 4 in 2023

Bethesda announced that a new major update is coming to its 'Fallout 4' title released almost a decade ago. Fallout 4 was released in 2015, making it one of the earliest major releases for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The game has since been ported to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X, but has not received major graphical updates to take advantage of this new hardware.

In 2023, Bethesda stated that a large update will come to Fallout 4, bringing 4k and 1440p resolutions, improved framerates upwards of 120fps, and various bug fixes to known issues in the game. The update will be freely accessible for all players on PC and current-generation consoles. On PS5 and XSX, the game will feature a quality mode for 4k/ 60fps, and a performance mode for 1080p / 120fps.
