Fayetteville High School counselor Leigh Hudson is responsible for making the prom dreams of more than 100 young girls come true. Her Glass Slipper project, made up of more than 40 volunteers, was originally formed to receive donations of prom dresses for needy students.
It has since grown into something more, as the Glass Slipper project can now provide girls who cannot afford to attend the event with a dress, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and even a ticket.
Hudson makes the dress-fitting a special occasion for the young women by sending out formal invitations. The Glass Slipper project demonstrates society’s willingness to contribute to increasing social and economic needs.
