Kingston University graduate Tristan Cluett's experimental photography is always entertaining. Whether he's photographing cyclists in action or creating highly stylized sets, the result is always polished and intriguing.
Cluett, who cites Adobe Photoshop as his motivation to go to art school, fondly recalls one of his projects, titled 'Karma.' In Hinduism, karma is defined as "the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences." Following that logic, Cluett decided to give "bad karma" items a do-over.
He explains, "We took all of the objects that are perceived as having a negative impact on the world and thought about what they would be if they where given a second chance to try and do something good. Mouse traps turned into swings, fishing hooks turned into paper clips and four pack beer holders re-invented themselves as sexy handcuffs."
