3D-Printed Death Devices

Exit International's 'Sarco' Concept is a Euthanasia Machine and Casket

Dr Philip Nitschke, a world renowned euthanasia advocate and head of the organization Final Exit, released Sarco, the world's first 3D-printed euthanasia machine. The machine is entirely user-operated and can function even if the person inside does not have the use of their limbs.

The patient lies in a covered pod that includes a removeable coffin. Once the patient is ready, they can release a charge of nitrogen gas that slowly removes all the oxygen and sends them into a painless final sleep. Unlike a euthanasia clinic, Sarco does not use any restricted drugs and the machine can be customized by the user with on-board touchscreens.

Legalised euthanasia is already practiced in Holland and Switzerland, where patients with terminal illnesses and chronic debilitating conditions have the option to end their life. Dr Nitschke plans to demonstrate the features of his machine at its release in Toronto, Canada.
