The Escola Sao Paulo Desks Comprise Basic Bent Bamboo Components

There is a simple way to furnish a lecture hall and these Escola São Paulo desks demonstrate the method. The Atelier Marko Brajovic pieces are a table and a chair set that need not be installed into the cascading rows of the auditorium, and nor do they even include recognizable legs.

What this designer has done is take plywood and laminated bamboo panels and bend them with heat. The chairs have been doubled over in one place to define the flat seat and the subtly curved backrest; the tables are folded in two spots to create a level surface that spans the sitters thighs. The Escola São Paulo desks can be set up on large step-like tiers or on even floors.
