The Eolian2 is Another Great Achievement by The University of Chile

The Eolian2 is yet another innovative racing car designed and developed by a group of engineering students and teachers from the University of Chile. Eolian2 solely depends on solar power and its efficiency will be officially tested at the Atacama Solar Challenge, which will take place between September and October 2011.

Eolian2 contains solar cells on its surface to power the entire car, enabling it to achieve a maximum speed of 130 kilometers an hour. The Eolian2’s predecessor Eolian was also an incredible solar-powered racing car that was successfully tested at the the Panasonic World Solar Challenge in Australia, where it stood 14th among forty-five contenders and covered a distance of more than three thousand miles.
