Greenhouse Gas-Converting Power Plants

This Apple Energy Plant will Turn Methane into Electricity

Several days ago it was announced that the subsidiary 'Apple Energy LCC' was being launched by the tech brand, and now this Apple Energy Plant has been announced to help create electricity out of waste.

The power plant will be located in Catawba County in North Carolina and will utilize the methane that's rising off of landfill waste as a form of energy. When the gas rises, it will be captured by the plant rather than allowed to enter the atmosphere and will convert it to electricity.

The revolutionary Apple Energy Plant helps to make a landfill a form of electricity generating and has been approved for 16 years of operation with a five year extension possible. The power plant is now in the works of being constructed.
