Pump-Crushing City Cars

The Elio from Elios Motors Can Hit 100 and Gets 84 MPG

Elio Motors is attempting to show the gas pump who’s boss with the Elio. The self-titled car has three wheels, is powered solely by gasoline and can reportedly get up to 84 mpg on the highway. (In the city the Elio is said to only get 49 mpg).

This lime green eco car is powered by a 1.0-liter engine good for 70 horsepower. However, Elio Motors claims its creation can hit speeds of over 100 mph and go as far as 670 miles on a single fill up of its eight gallon tank. The Elio is also said to have air conditioning, power windows, anti-roll bars, anti-lock brakes and a five-star crash test rating. Oh, and it will sell for a mere $6,800.
