The barge itself is called 'Swale' and will consists of a 80-foot by 30-platform that will float on the Hudson River. The barge will be topped with an edible forest garden that will allow for the harvesting of produce such as wild leeks, scallions, rosemary, blueberries and more. The barge will dock in Brooklyn, Governors Island and the Bronx, giving New Yorkers from all over the city a chance to forage for free food.
