Amazon Will Launch a New Donations Program to Handle Excess Inventory

Amazon recently announced a new donations program that will allow extra products to be donated to charities. Amazon's donations program will be available to any seller who utilizes Fulfillment by Amazon. Amazon will begin undertaking its new donation efforts beginning in September. The program will be rolled out to the United States and to the United Kingdom. Amazon will also begin collaborating with different non-profits to make donation logistics more efficient.

Sellers will be opted into the program by default, so if they wish to not participate, sellers would have to manually opt-out. In order to help move inventory, Amazon will work with an organization named Good 360 that will deal with US inventory. UK inventory will be handled by Newlife, as well as Barnardo.
