It's hard to believe that an orange peel is at all flammable, but the DIY Satsuma Candle shows that it can be. This unique project transforms this unlikely material into a practical and eco-friendly light source.
Conceived by a friend of HonestlyWTF blogger Erica, the DIY Satsuma Candle is a great table decor option for intimate dinner parties. It so happens that is how Erica was introduced to these amazing candles. A simple creation, all that is needed to make this fruity candle is a satsuma orange, olive or vegetable oil, a serrated knife, a spoon and matches. Surprisingly, no wax or wick is required.
According to Erica, the DIY Satsuma Candle will stay lit for at least a couple of hours depending on how long the orange's pith is.
