This ENESS Projection Makes the X-Games Look Like TRON

Melbourne-based art and design firm ENESS has been transforming ordinary physical spaces into interactive, psychedelic environments since 1997. Its latest creation demonstrates well the value of 15 years of experience in this field.

Using its own three-dimensional mapping software, ENESS projects an animated X-Games logo onto snow-ramps. The logo then responds to snowboarders as they shoot down the hill and fly into the air. The animations interact differently with each successive snowboarder so as to produce a pattern that evolves dynamically over time.

Watching the video of these animations, one might just think that they’re watching scenes from ‘Tron.’ Shapes explode and morph into one another amongst a cornucopia of vibrant, dancing colors. At certain times, the effect is so complete that it seems there is no snow at all.
