Dutch design firm D/DOCK created this incredibly well-designed office for Google in Amsterdam. Google is known for its innovative office designs that give employees plenty of opportunities for recreation and relaxation, while allowing them to work hard in a creative and stimulating physical environment.
The interiors of the Google Amsterdam office are a reminder that ‘if you ain’t Dutch, you ain’t much’—they are filled with several elements that celebrate the most fun aspects of Dutch culture. There are elegant bicycle carriers, emblems of the royal family and even huge ceiling panels resembling the popular local dessert, stroopwafel.
The 32,000-square foot office is filled with meeting and ‘huddle’ rooms, mini-kitchens and even private ‘caves’ for employees to hide in when they want to work in a completely distraction-free environment. D/DOCK partner Coen Van Dijck summed up the design as "a place that makes the employee perform better by offering a work environment that meets their needs."
