Illuminated Thread Installations

Artist David Ogle Explores Notions of Permanence and Perception

David Ogle's thread art installations are out of this world. Taking the work of Gabriel Dawe and Faig Ahmed to the next level, he illuminates his material of choice to create scenes that appear to test the theories of space and time. David Ogle writes, "Much of my work to date has dealt with exploring notions of materiality, of permanence and of the perception of objects in space."

Strikingly ephemeral, David Ogle accompanies his threaded art works with light, which transforms them into a futuristic sight worthy of scientists' attentions. David Ogle also contains his work within certain familiar parameters such as a box or a fan to evoke people's imagination about their origin and purpose. Nevertheless, they are still "sculptures without mass and forms without structures."
