The Dahlia by Carsten Witte Series is Fantastically Dramatic

Until I stumbled upon the photo series titled Dahlia by Carsten Witte, I didn't think that flowers could look so dark and menacing. Instead, I am sure that most of us (excluding those with serious outdoor allergies) considered them as nature's very own accessories, pretty and colorful. That doesn't mean that the photos in Dahlia by Carsten Witte are not beautiful, they are simply not as innocent as those depicted in typical flower photography.

Yet the photos in Dahlia by Carsten Witte complement the Germany-based photographer's fantastical and dramatic style. Witte often uses a technique that makes his images seem like negatives of the real photos. That is exactly the case with the Dahlia photo series. I especially like that each shot is a close-up of a different flower.
