Craning Light Boxes

The Curious Lamp Has a Double-Hinged Arm to Adjust its Type of Illumination

In addition to her Pencil Light, designer Caroline Olsson has another adorable fixture that's been inspired by school. The Curious Lamp was dreamed up with the concept of an old pencil box in mind, for an idea that has resulted in a quirky and wonderfully cute product.

Lovely pale birch wood makes up the rectangular base of the desk lamp, which also serves as compact storage compartment for the entire illuminator. Should you require bright and direct lighting, extend the object's bent arm and angle its beams at the task before you; however, the Curious Lamp can also be completely folded up, so to enclose itself within the timber case. From that latter position, the fixture can remain on, gently delivering a greatly diffused glow through spacing in the wooden blocks and a small opening in the front.
