Ferries, boats and water taxis are all standard but expensive methods of getting across a body of water, but a conceptual design dubbed 'crosswater' has been introduced as a means of getting a group of people from one side to the other.
The design has been described as a 'horizontal elevator' essentially housing up to 15 people at a time and moving across the water, helping people get from one platform to the other. The aim of this design is to not only make water travel more convenient and affordable, but to help decongest roads, bridges, and other high traffic areas that can surround the water.
