Art-Enhanced Creative Shipping Containers

YOK and SHERYO Use Art to Boost Community Aesthetics

These two creative shipping containers by traveling mural artists YOK and SHERYO significantly improve the aesthetic of the neighborhood. The illustrations are intricate and a great example of the skilled work street artists produce, as well as its inherent value to the community.

This particular installation is commissioned for a collaboration between Red hook Crit and Nike. Each of the two creative shipping containers is 40 feet in length and the structures have been painted both on the inside and out. YOK and SHERYO infused their installations with a bit of a personalized touch as they sourced "gates, doors, wood, corrugated metal, tin sheets, industrial lights, chain link fences, [...] and even a red seafaring hook" from the neighborhood. They used these materials to clad the exterior and thus, offered a more unique piece of art to the local community.
