Croissant-Inspired Desserts

The Cronut is a Delicious Croissant-Donut Hybrid

While donuts are a delicious dessert on their own, it's always fun when you can find new, inventive and creative donuts to try. This is where the cronut comes in -- a delectable donut-shaped cream-stuffed croissant.

The Cronut was invented at New York's Dominique Ansel Bakery by its head pastry chef Dominique Ansel. Made with a custom-made croissant-like dough, the Cronut is able to retain the buttery, flaky and layered texture of a croissant even after being deep-fried in grape seed oil. The dough is layered and cut in a donut shape. After frying, the Cronut is then rolled in sweet sugar, stuffed with exquisite cream and then covered in a girly and fun pink glaze.

Sadly only available in New York, if you're ever in the area I definitely recommend stopping by the Dominiqe Ansel Bakery and trying out one of these amazingly creative donuts.
