The Creative 3D Animation in 'New York Biotopes' is Beautiful

This video from German student Lena Steinkuhler is one of the most amazing examples of creative 3D animation I've seen in a while. It features strange plant like forms coming alive and taking over New York City. But it's not as foreboding as it sounds -- the objects are actually quite cheery, playful and brightly colored. Watch as Subway seats and turnstiles come alive before your very eyes as they morph into weird and wonderful shapes.

The creative 3D animation in 'New York Biotopes' also features glowing jellyfish like objects hovering over a subway station and traffic lights bending and coming alive. The student says she wanted to create a film that "filled up up the metropolis of New York with vegetation, that adapts to the straightness of the technology and the given situation" and that she wanted the bio-tropes to co-exist alongside one-another.
