Fair Trade, Organic Pura Vida Coffee Benefits Children and Communities

Seattle-based coffee company Pura Vida is on a mission to help its coffee bean growers, their children, and the coffee-growing communities in Central America improve their lives. In true entrepreneurial style, they’re doing it one espresso at a time.

Pura Vida is a charitable, non-profit that only sells organic, fair-trade, shade-grown coffee. The profits are used for health care and education programs. Co-founder John Sage reasoned that since Americans spend between $15 and $20 billion per year on coffee, a very small bit of the market could do a lot of worldly good.
