Flexible Transformative Furniture

The Coskucan GURUN Blank Canvas is Extremely Adjustable

There is plenty of adjustable furniture out there but few of the designs come even close to the degree of flexibility the 'Blank Canvas' from Coskucan GURUN offers.

When not in use, the furniture is simply a two-dimensional black piece of fabric stretched between the bars of a metal support frame. The canvas connects to the frame through strings that can be adjusted to shape the fabric into different forms. In this sense, the furniture truly is a blank canvas. It can be contorted into a chair, molded into a shelf or even made into a practically useless, but aesthetically interesting abstract shape. Indeed, Coskucan GURUN intended the concept to be just as much an objet d'art as a functional piece of furniture.

On his Behance page, the designer explains that the project looks to examine anonymity, identity and ambiguity in object form.
