Modernized Old School Escritoires

The Comfortable Desk Has Evolved to Accommodate Adaptability

You don't see the stand-alone chair-desk combo in classrooms as often anymore; however, when you do, they tend to conform to the old assembly that isn't remotely reconfigurable. The Comfortable Desk is a contemporary adaptation for the 21st century student that affords the user the ability to adjust it to the shape of his own body.

Despite the rigid and structured look about Michele Tenca's project, the seat can be moved forwards or backwards on tracks. The pair of cushions that make up the backrest can be slid up and down to one's desired positions while the writing surface can be shifted as well. Conceived in collaboration with Emanuele Cecini, the modular Comfortable Desk can be easily moved about different classrooms and arranged freely without occupying much space.
