The Comfort Zone photos, captured by photographer Tadao Cern, consists of clandestinely captured photographs of sunbathers on the beach. These candid shots of partially exposed sunbathers were taken as they lay asleep.
The series exposes the contradiction that arises out of the fact that people spend so much time and effort hiding their physical imperfections, but have no issues with baring much of their bodies on the beach.
The series aims to provoke viewers into asking themselves why we have to go to a sunny beach before we can feel comfortable in our own skin. While the Comfort Zone photos were sneakily captured, it's important to bear in mind that beaches are public places much like streets and sidewalks.
