This Colorful Apartment Was Designed by Nathaniel Furman

Minimalism reigns in the interior design world, but Nathaniel Furman chose to deviate from traditional design to offer a client in Tokyo a colorful apartment that was inspired by candy, specifically bubble gum.

When creating this design, the artist was told to create a "bubblegum flat," which evokes images of bright pinks and blues, tasking Furman with blending nostalgia and modern design. The end result is a stunning interior that features a chic 60s aesthetic thanks to its incredibly bold colorway. The apartment contains a baby blue table, green carpeting, pink and yellow walls, and bold patterns.

While not for everyone, this apartment demonstrates the ability for interior design to highlight a homeowners personality.
