This coding bootcamp focuses on educating people of color. The Telegraph Academy based in Berkeley, California wants to give black and latino/a people skills in an effort to improve the numbers of visible minorities in technical roles. The coding bootcamp is part of the Hack Reactor network, which has a 99% hiring rate and partnerships with more than 30 relevant companies.
Telegraph Academy gives participants access to equipment, 12 hours of hacking experience every weekday, 28 lectures overall, job search support, "solution walkthroughs" and more. Founder Albrey Brown described the intense workshop series as "a shit show in the best way possible." The first cohort began last summer. Since, they have also started offering leadership development seminars.
