Glass Tile Billboards

These Stunning Billboards Direct You Around Clerkenwell Design Week 2016

London-based design company Giles Miller Studio created a series of immaculate glass tile billboards in collaboration with British Ceramic Tile that direct patrons around exhibitions at Clerkenwell Design Week 2016.

The sculptures are made from thousands of glass tiles that were handmade by the company. The tiles are placed to make a type of swooshing arrow that directs people around, which is shown in day and night as the pieces can be lighted from the inside.

When the sculptures are lit, the ceramic tiles create a soft glow that lights the streets festively for Clerkenwell Design Week 2016. When not illuminated, the intricacies of the tiles are revealed, with their careful placement making them look like the scales of a dragon. The sculptures vary in color, with some using tiles matte brown tiles and others using bright red and blue.
