The Clayton i-house by Kevin Clayton is the luxury trailer home of the future -- its exquisite design was inspired by gas station architecture.
The 52,000 lb Clayton i-house has a v-shaped roof, luxury amenities and energy-efficient, eco-friendly qualities like solar panels and bamboo floors. Best of all, estimated electricity and heating costs amount to about $1 a day. The house itself costs between $100-$130 per square foot, depending on amenities.
"The layout of the long main 'core' house and a separate box-shaped guestroom-office 'flex room' resemble the letter 'i' and its dot," the Baltimore Sun explains.
So what's the obsession with 'i' everything? Is this an obsession with iPods? In the case of the Clayton i-house, the designer says no.
"We love what it represents," Kevin Clayton says. "We are fans of Apple and all that they have done. But the 'I' stands for innovation, inspiration, intelligence and integration."
