General Motors is Getting in on the Mobile Market with its Own App Shop

Chevrolet is throwing its hat in the ring for the mobile movement as it recently announced a new Chevrolet app shop for its upcoming cars. The cars listed to receive this new upgrade include the Corvette, Malibu and Impala amongst others.

The apps will be run over a 4G LTE connection which will be hosted by At&T in the States. If you don't want to use AT&T though you can always run it through Bluetooth from your own phone.

Apps that have already been announced include NPR, Slacker Radio and the Weather Channel. The Chevrolet App Shop won't have as many apps as the Apple app store or Google Play but will provide drivers with the essentials.

This is huge in the automotive business. It was only a matter of time until a dealer threw their names into the mobile app market and GM is the biggest. This will send ripples through the auto mobile industry.
