Axis Mundi's Cathedral Fold Combine Modern and Gothic Aesthetics

We need more architectural designs like the Cathedral Fold. I say this not ignoring all of the other amazing design ventures out there, but more so in regards to the religious community. Instead of building magnificent structures that are as heavenly as the subject for which it was built, many cities have started to create lesser, more basic buildings. Places like the Cathedral Fold are inspiring and spiritual.

Designed by New York City architecture office Axis Mundi, the Cathedral Fold takes on a very modern approach without succumbing to mediocre tendencies. Instead, it combines contemporary design with sweeping Gothic influences.

The Cathedral Fold will be built in Strasbourg, France, engulfing 2322 square meters with seven folded arches.
