'Mission Creep' Made of IKEA Cartons

This IKEA skull is part of an installation called ‘Mission Creep’ shown at the French saint-étienne biennale. The skull is made from recycled cartons and has been fastened with IKEA measuring tape. Talk about product placement!

IKEA has to be the master of product placement. I have wondered for some time how the international mega store landed the Oyster Card deal with the London Underground systems0, where all the supplied Oyster Cards come in IKEA-colored plastic wallets with their logo on it.

Back to the skull: it was created by artist Ivan Twohig and can be picked apart and reassembled anywhere.
