These Opulent Seats Are Designed For Ultra-Long-Distance 'Qantas' Flights

Australia's largest air carrier Qantas has unveiled a brand new set of luxurious airline seats that are designed to ensure that hyper-long-distance flights can be navigated in consummate comfort and ease for passengers traveling in business class and first class.

Crafted by Safran Seats in collaboration with the Caon Studios and Charles Perkins Centre, these airline seats were designed as part of 'Project Sunrise,' which refers to Qantas' effort to provide ultra-long-distance flying options that will last between 18 and 22 hours and transport passengers from the east coast of Australia all the way to North America and Europe. The business class seats created for Qantas are equipped with private doors, storage space and staggered seating layouts that allow for increased space. Meanwhile, the first class seats are fitted with beds, plentiful stowage space, a massive console and a dining table.

Given the duration of flights from Australia to Europe and North America, the features provided by these seats will aim to ensure increased uptake both among the business travel sector as well as well-monied private travellers and vacationers.
