'Clavel Arquitectos' recently designed a cantilevered concrete concrete home that boasts a dramatic profile. While cantilever construction is nothing new, this home features dramatic angles that visually separate the lower level from the top floor.
The unusual concrete home is located in Molina de Segura, with views overlooking the mountains of Spain's Murcia region. The residence is called the 'Crossed House' due to its cantilevered concrete design. Instead of jutting out slightly from the lower level, the upper level overlaps and pivots on a 35 degree angle. This allows the top floor to cantilever 10 meters over the ground floor. The usual set up helps to separate the two levels and optimize the beautiful views. As a result, the lower level looks out on to the garden and pool, while the upper level has views of the distant mountains.
