Distracting Recovery VRs

This VR Game Was Designed to Help Burn Victims During Their Treatment

Dr. Brian Pridgen, a resident of the Stanford Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice, created an affordable virtual reality game to help burn victims with their time in recovery.

The device was designed to allow patients to play without having to endure any painful movements -- working to supply its user with a totally immersive experience while keeping in mind their limited mobility. The VR game is offered in two different versions, one of which is more relaxing to play with a slower pace and no score-keeping, while the other is more competitive and records the user's progress.

In addition to being low-cost, the device is also easy to assemble and is designed to be used specifically for burn victims -- offering them a distraction from the hospital and their routine treatments.
