Arched Steel Furniture

The Bow Table and Bench by Benjamin Hubert is Both Simple and Complex

The Bow Table and Bench is a simple set of furniture revolving around an arching element that gives it its name. Nevertheless, the curved steel pieces present in the design isn't there just for looks. They each create enough tension to hold the furniture together. More than that, by being rolled, the steel offers "greater strength-to-weight ratio plus some flexibility to the seat," according to Design Milk.

Created by Benjamin Hubert for Portuguese manufacturer De La Espada, the Bow Table and Bench was recently unveiled during the London Design Festival. Despite its somewhat complex construction, the design of the table and bench has a minimalist aesthetic that will appeal to modern individuals and fit into many different homes.
