The Bottle House By Bernard Rudolfsky Re-Defines Recycling

The bottle house structures designed and built by Bernard Rudolfsky represent the most extreme of recycling activities. Based in Prince Edward Island, Bernard Rudolfsky began collecting glass bottles at the age of 66. In 1983 he successfully built his first bottle house structure using 10,000 bottles to create a small chapel.

Since then Rudofolsky attracted plenty of enthusiasm, encouragement and support to continue building more bottle house structures. Within the span of four years and using over 25,000 bottles, four different bottle house structures have been built and are open to the public as tourist attractions in Prince Edward Island.
