The Aegis Bio-USB 3.0 Biometric hard drives secure the user’s precious downloads and other files using their own fingerprints.

While backing up the computer’s files onto a hard drive seems secure, the drive can easily be lost or stolen compared to the laptop due to its size. With the biometric hard drives, all information is encrypted and protected so no unwanted eyes can snoop around. The device supports up to five different sets of fingerprints, all of which are stored within the device’s inbuilt circuitry, making it exceedingly difficult and nearly impossible for hackers to get within the hard drive.

The device uses an "advanced live layer imaging technology" to detect the precise fingerprint, a patent-pending technology from the company. With a high speed transfer rate of 5GBps, the hard drive is compatible with PC, Mac and Linux devices and will be available with three different capacities: 500 GB, 750GB and 1TB.
