Designer Yarn Balls

Lernert Engelberts & Sander Plug Turn Designer Clothes into Balls of Yarn

Artistic duo 'Lernert Engelberts & Sander Plug' turned last season's knitwear back into their original forms: balls of yarn. The collection of yarn balls is aptly called 'Last Season' and features garments from fashion powerhouses like Prada, Chloé, Céline and Jil Sander. Fittingly, all of the pieces are from Fall/Winter 2013 collections.

Engelberts and Plug displayed their unknitting products in the windows of clothing store Kiki Niesten. While some brand enthusiast probably wanted to buy them, they were actually meant to be comical "symbols of hope and aspiration" to window shoppers.

All fashion starts somewhere -- even if it's from a ball of yarn. Something so simple can easily transform into something that can be seen on high-fashion runways. Fashion mavens should take the message as inspiration.
