Mario Bollini and Daniela Rus of the Distributed Robotics Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have taken a PR2 robot and programmed it to be able to mix dough (from scratch, nonetheless), arrange it in the shape of a giant cookie, and bake it to yummy, gooey perfection.

Earlier this year, Bollini and Rus programmed the PR2 to know how to place grocery store products in a shopping cart. They also taught it to mix a bowl of ingredients with the goal of making breakfast. The BakeBot certainly knows its way around a kitchen.

Sure, the BakeBot costs about $400,000, but it seems like money well spent to me.
