Pop-Up Auto Retailers

The New 'Tesla' Automotive Shops Come in the Form of Shipping Containers

Electric car company 'Tesla Motors' has launched a new retail initiative that will feature pop-up automotive shops folded inside shipping containers. Cleverly titled the 'Tesla Mobile Container Store,' the new mobile retail campaign will take the 'Model S' on tour through the US and Europe this summer.

The mobile automotive shops themselves are made up of two shipping containers, separated by a steel bean and a covered with a canvas roof. Although the stores are compact enough to be transported on a flatbed truck, the pop-up shops can easily double in size once unloaded. Because Tesla sells its cars directly to consumers, the mobile stores are designed to go where its customers are vacationing in various locations across the US and Europe.

Tesla has always been know for taking an unorthodox approach to selling cars and its latest pop-up container shops are no exception.
