When it comes to sleds, there's nothing nerdier than the AT-AT sled. Doug Brewbaker, Garret Geiger and James Groves spent 70 hours constructing this one-of-a-kind sled for the 8th Annual Cardboard Classic in Lansing, Michigan. The trio's sled was one of 50 entries in the contest, competing alongside such entries as 'Couch' and 'Spartan Chariot.'
The AT-AT sled is an example of what you can create using limited materials and a lot of creativity. The sled stood at 7'8" and was built using nothing but cardboard, paper, glue, tape and paint. The attention to detail with regard to the paint job is especially impressive. The sled managed to make a 15-second run down the hill before being downed by snowspeeders.
