Public Phone Fish Tanks

The Aquarium Phone Booth Embodies an Exotic Escape in France

In an attempt to keep these communication relics alive and relevant, artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino created the Aquarium Phone Booth. Although the act of converting old phone booths into works of art isn't all that new, the fish swimming inside this particular piece makes it undeniably stunning.

Created for the Lyon Light Festival in France, the designers note, "With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically coloured fish; an invitation to escape and travel."
