The Aquadopt Initiative Teaches Children About Wildlife Conservation

The Vancouver Aquarium recently launched a program called 'Aquadopt,' which teaches children about wildlife conservation. The program not only helps children engage with the exhibits in the aquarium, but it also provides an opportunity to foster continued learning.

Vancouver’s Aquadopt initiative is a unique program that gives families an opportunity to support the Amphibian Ark Program through the symbolic adoption of an endangered frog. Those who purchase the special Aquadopt frog kit will receive a plush frog, a certificate of adoption, a frog collector card, a fact booklet and a charitable tax receipt. Each kit directly supports the breeding of an endangered frog species, while also teaching children about wildlife conservation. As a result, the kits encourage children to keep learning about conservation efforts even after leaving the aquarium.

The Aquadopt initiative provides a more meaningful museum experience by giving children the opportunity to bring a piece of the aquarium home.
