Anthony McCall Makes Intangible Sculptures Strikingly Bright

New York-based artist Anthony McCall created a luminous art installation entitled 'Five Minutes of Pure Sculpture.'

Held at the Museum Für Genenwart in Berlin, Germany, the art installation portrays a solid light effect that illuminates a dark, 1,000 square foot room. The light beams strongly contrast in the darkened gallery space, and they are made by introducing streams of light from a slither of open space.

The light fixtures are beamed downwards where vertical and horizontal luminescent lines form on flat surfaces. Anthony McCall assembles a 10 meter installation that shoots curvaceous lines onto the floor and walls to create drastic light effects. Viewers can see the heavily dense light rays between the projector and flat surfaces.
