This Small Golden Ball Decreases Effects of Alzheimer’s Disease

For those suffering with Alzheimer’s disease or the onset of the condition, the medication prescribed can lead to a series of side effects that can greatly inhibit the body's other receptors and cause more stress on the individual. Luckily Stanford University has put together a small golden ball that is designed as a nanoparticle that dispenses medication in a much more precise manner, to eliminate the blocking of all of the body's receptors. This ensures that only those receptors affected by the Alzheimer’s are treated.

Currently Alzheimer’s disease can be a result of the NMDA receptor having too much stimulation, but often times the treatment options block the rest of the receptors as well.
