These Strange Images Consist of Reversed Album Cover Artwork

An artist who goes by the moniker 'Harvezt' has created these phenomenal and peculiar reversed versions of iconic music album cover art. Album artworks often go on to become some of the most recognizable and memorable photos and graphics of their time, so Harvezt thought it might be interesting to take these images and 'turn them around' to visualize what they might look like from behind. His series is aptly titled 'The Dark Side of the Covers.'

The series borrows its name from the album that was probably the easiest for Harvezt to reverse, Pink Floyd's 'The Dark Side of the Moon'. The original cover shows light entering a prism from one side and exiting as a rainbow on the other side; Harvezt simply reverses the process.

Among the more scandalous reinterpretations is that of the notorious swimming baby depicted on the cover of Nirvana's epochal 'Nevermind' album. Harvezt's version shows the baby from behind, naked bum and all. The artist also creates both beautiful and disturbing reinterpretations of albums by artists as varied as the Beatles, Iron Maiden, the Beastie Boys and Dr. Dre.
